Introducing Frond Illustrations

Hi! I'm Juna.

After creating the kelp diagram for 's 2026 Vancouver ATmosphere Conference talk slides, I realized how much I enjoy creating detailed illustrations for big ideas.

So... I created Frond Illustrations! I specialize in hand-drawn botanical art, slide graphics, and diagrams, but I also like to stretch my range to other art styles, formats, and techniques.

If you are a developer, presenter, speaker, or anyone who deals with big concepts, you probably know how hard it is to communicate your thoughts with simple clipart from some random image website. And then, of course, there is the New 2.0 Very Smart Extra Smart Hyper-Realistic Super Great AI.

AI has made it even easier to check off 'add images' from your list. It's really compelling- you type a few words and click a button and an image appears (ignore the five extra hands and the foot made out of cheese). And AI is progressing by the day- it's getting harder and harder to distinguish artificial 'images' (if you can even call them that) from the work of actual, living, breathing people. But real art isn't random images shoved in a blender and labelled "original". Real art is alive, breathing, organic, and it shows itself in every line, every dot of color, every simple pencil sketch. But still, so many people resort to using AI or clipart or AI clipart, simply because it's convenient.

That's a problem I'm here to fix.

If you have an idea, a presentation, or a project that needs a rich visual anchor, I would love to collaborate with you! Find out how to request a commission at my new Leaflet webpage, https://frond-illustrations.leaflet.pub, starting at $25!
